Residential chemicals, known as "household hazardous waste" or HHW, must be properly disposed in accordance with State law.  Such materials are not to be placed into the normal waste stream.  DO NOT place such materials out for garbage collection.  To facilitate proper disposal, the Authority sponsors an annual HHW collection event.  The JUNE 2025 event is being planned and will be held our event partners, Pennsylvania Resource Council and Concurrent Technologies Corporation.  A small FEE will APPLY.  For more information, to view a complete list of accepted items, to see the list of other event dates in our region and to register for this event visit PRC: https://prc.org/programs/collectionevents/household-chemicals/

HHW includes liquid, solid and contained gaseous chemicals generated from a household such as paints, solvents, adhesives, aerosols, cleaners, automotive fluids, insecticides, fertilizers, rechargeable batteries and pool chemicals to name a few.   Chemicals collected at this event will be safely recycled, utilized for BTU value or properly neutralized and disposed at regulated hazardous waste facilities in accordance with all regulations.
