HouSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE/Chemicals

Chemical Disposal Event and Registration: Residential chemicals, known as "household hazardous waste" or HHW, must be properly disposed in accordance with State law.  Such materials are not be placed in with normal waste.  To facilitate proper disposal, the Authority sponsors an annual collection event.  The 2024 event will be held Saturday, June 8th, from 9 am to 1 pm  with our event partners, Pennsylvania Resource Council and Concurrent Technologies Corporation.  A nominal disposal FEE will APPLY.  For more information, to view a complete list of accepted items, to see a complete list of events in our region and to register for the event visit PRC: https://prc.org/programs/collectionevents/household-chemicals/

HHW includes liquid, solid and contained gaseous chemicals generated from a household such as paints, solvents, adhesives, aerosols, cleaners, automotive fluids, insecticides, fertilizers and pool chemicals to name a few.
