If you are uncertain who provides curbside garbage collection services in your community, please contact your municipality of residence for information. Each municipality is autonomously responsible for regulating waste collection services within its respective boundaries. Some municipalities have a single contracted hauler, others may utilize a subscription service. "Contracted haulers" are exclusive to the municipality and therefore as a resident of that municipality you must utilize the contracted hauler(s). Whereas with "subscription service" it is up to the resident to directly contact a a licensed area waste hauler for waste collection service. If you reside in a "subscription service" area, contact info for area waste haulers are also listed on this page.
Municipal contact information can be found on the County Planning Commission website here:
Residential chemicals, known as "household hazardous waste" or HHW, must be properly disposed in accordance with State law and must not be placed in with normal waste. To facilitate this, the Authority sponsors an annual collection event, June 8, 2024, with our partners Pennsylvania Resource Council. Pre registration is required to participate. For more information about specific HHW disposal events or to register for the event visit: https://prc.org/programs/collectionevents/household-chemicals/
HHW includes chemicals generated from a household such as paints, solvents, adhesives, cleaners, automotive fluids, insecticides, fertilizers and pool chemicals to name a few.
NO businesses or institutions are allowed at this event.
