Familiarize
yourself with what can be recycled before you start collecting
materials.
This avoids frustrations at the bins and lost personal time.
-
Organize
your recyclables before you leave home.
To get in and out quickly, sort your materials so that they
can go in the designated bins easier without running back
and forth to each one.
-
Don't
do it every day!
Unless you accumulate a lot of material each day, wait until
you have a manageable load before visiting the bins. This
saves you gas money AND time.
-
Find
a site near you that's convenient.
If you're going to work, to visit family, or going shopping,
chances are good there's a bin site along the way. Click here
to see a map of all our sites.
-
Be
courteous to others at the bins.
If space is limited, please don't pull up next to the bins.
Park in the parking lots as to not block others from recycling.
If you're in a hurry, they might be, too!
-
Please
be patient. Sometimes
the bins can fill up faster than we can empty them. If a bin
is full, do NOT leave material on the ground or on the bins.
Either take it back home for another trip, or try again to
push the material in the bin. The bins fill from the front
first and there is often a large void in the back for more
material.
-
If
it doesn't go in the bin, don't bring it to the site.
Non-recyclable materials are trash. We do not collect trash
and can not handle it at the sites. If it's your own trash,
please take it home or don't bring it. Leaving trash at the
bins can result in fines! It is considered illegal dumping!
