Wind Sock

If you use paper towels or toilet paper, and have some spare fabric laying
around from old clothes or sewing projects, you can make this
spiffy wind sock to hang outside!

Materials Needed:

  1. Paper towel, TP, or wrapping paper tube.
  2. Scrap fabric
  3. Scissors
  4. Yarn, twine or string
  5. Stapler
  6. Swivel (like those used for fishing)

Procedure:

  1. Cut the cardboard tube to make a 2 inch wide ring.
  2. Poke 3 holes in the cardboard tube, equal lengths around perimeter and about 1/4 inch from the top.
  3. Cut 1/2 to 3/4 inch strands of fabric - about 2 feet long.
  4. Fold 1/2 inch of fabric around top portion of ring.
  5. Staple fabric through both sides of the ring.
  6. Cut 3 8-12 inch pieces of yarn, twine or string.
  7. Tie each strand through a hole.
  8. Tie together at the top.
  9. Tie top knot to the swivel.
  10. Hang outside in a windy place and enjoy!
