Craft sent in by Miss Michele Kirk

Thanks!
Preparation:
Fold plastic grocery
bags (in whatever color you like) in half lengthwise and in half
again and sooth on a table.
Cut handles and bottom off crosswise.
Cut into 3/4 or 1 inch strips. Loop
these strips together (as you would rubber bands). These form your
yarn.
Cut and loop 2 or 3 bags at a time.
Crochet Bag
Use a K croche hook
Chain the length you want your bag
bottom to be. Don't go too long or your bag will have to be too
tall to look right. (Unless you want a huge bag!) Use another tote
to compare.
Single crochet as many rows wide
as you want the bottom of the bag to be. Remember to chain one stitch
after every row.
No start to single crochet around
and around this bottom. At first you will go around four sides until
is starts forming your bag and becomes an oval. Go as tall as you
want your bag to be and then tie off.
Handles
Chain the length you want for handles.
Single crochet rows as wide as you
wan the handles to be. Chain one stitch after each row.
Attach handles to the bag. You can
either sew or crochet them on.
Thanks to Miss Kirk
for this great way to reuse plastic grocery bags!
